Pretending I’m a tourist
Knowing, here I am and damn
Just thinkin’ in another Waikiki hotel lobby
Oh, Bobby where have the years gone?
Not wasted, not drivel, not dangerous head on a swivel
Chilled and cookin’ at exactly the same time
A rhyme scheme a dream a hoot and a holler
You coffee drinkin’ picture window room crawler
A bus pops its brakes, hisssssss
Just sittin’, in a comfy hotel lobby
Thinkin’, “Oh Bobby, where have the years gone?”
There goes another dream, out to sea,
Under that surfer’s board, by the sea turtle
See turtles at Oahu Club. See tortoise at Diamond Head. See turtles in Temple Valley.
See sea turtles in the Pacific.
I see in hotel lobbies, in Waikiki.
